Stefano Bombardieri

Born in 1968 in Brescia, Italy, Stefano Bombardieri, son of a sculptor, was immersed in the world of art from childhood. He learned the basics of sculpture from his father, but he also found inspiration in the works of Umberto Boccioni and Henry Moore, and through his artistic production, the artist questions the philosophical concepts of time and its perception, the experience of pain and the meaning of man’s existence on earth. His approach is close to the hyperrealist movement: if he represents a tangible reality, he does not stop there, but goes beyond it to reach a greater spirituality.

I he sculpts figures, those of the animal world being his favourites, with meticulous attention to detail in order to obtain an extremely realistic rendering. This truer-than-life appearance disturbs the viewer. Indeed, faced with this surprising spectacle, the spectator finds himself confronted with a deep inner questioning.
