François LINKE (1855-1946):
Born in Bohemia, he settled in Paris in 1875 and began working in the 1880s in his studio in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine. Present at the Universal Exhibition of 1900, his talent was recognized and celebrated with a gold medal. His production, inspired by Art Nouveau, is characterized by furniture reinterpreting the taste of Regency or rocaille. He worked for an international clientele and with the artist Léon Messagé. His Place Vendôme workshop was a success until the Second World War.
