François MONDON (1694-1770):
Coming from a family originating from the Dauphiné, he made a name for himself with his production of chests of drawers inspired by the Regency and the century of Louis XIV. Located in rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, its production is fairly uniform: it uses dark violet or rosewood veneers, which it embellishes with chiselled and gilded bronze ornamentation. His chests of drawers are generally without crossbars. His son will continue his work.
