Jacques Bircklé

Jacques BIRCKLE (1734-1803):

Master cabinetmaker in 1764, he works from his workshop in the rue de Charenton. In no way seeking to create or invent new forms, he was content to work meticulously on his inlaid furniture and delivered furniture of perfect workmanship at the end of his reign to Queen Marie-Antoinette and other personalities of the French Court such as Madame Elisabeth, the Duchess of Lamballe or the Duke of Orléans. Also mastering the work of veneer, he will provide simpler furniture veneered with rosewood, violet, mahogany or satin.
