Jacques Selosse

It was after the Second World War, in 1949, that Jacques Selosse created his Champagne wine company. In 1974, after studying in Beaune, Anselme Selosse, son of Jacques Selosse, joined his father in the family business. But Anselme Selosse has his own point of view as to the method of vinification to adopt. The latter is a great adept of Burgundian techniques, based on respect for nature and vinification of the grapes, plot by plot. And even if this technique is not normally meant to be used for the vinification of Champagne wines, he still puts it into practice. Of course the result is divine.

The Selosse house owns about forty plots of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, grape varieties necessary for the blending for the creation of Champagne. The Chardonnay plots are in Avize, Cramant, Oger and Mesnil sur Oger; the Pinot Noir plots are in Aÿ, Ambonnay and Mareuil. Anselme Selosse likes to pick his grapes at great maturity and obtain small yields. Thus, he creates a Champagne wine with a strong personality and very good quality.

Only 57,000 bottles are produced per year, a true guarantee of excellence. Demand being higher than supply, the company has set up a quota system to reduce this excessive demand. We regularly offer bottles of Champagne Selosse during our sales, which have delighted our customers. If you wish to include a batch of Champagne Selosse, please contact Marion QUESNE, head of the Wines and Spirits department of the Aguttes study.
