Wang Yancheng

Following in the footsteps of Zao Wou-Ki and Chu Teh-Chun, Wang Yancheng highlights a new pictorial style: lyrical abstraction. The Franco-Chinese artist is concerned with “leaving his life on the canvas”; in fact, his works are interested in the dialogue between man, the universe and nature. This technique of accumulation of flat tints, offering a particularly thick and lively texture to the canvas as well as an extreme depth to the image, is very personal to him.

It is at the age of 29 that Wang Yan-Cheng settled permanently in France, where he hopes to perfect his style. With a complete artistic training in China and a limitless creativity, the painter is noticed. In 2002, he was appointed Vice-President of the IACA at UNESCO’s International Association of Art, thus becoming a true international cultural mediator. Celebrated today in Asia as well as in Europe for several years, his works are more and more appreciated on the art market.
