Born in 1861, Henry Emile Vollet is a pupil of Fernand Cormon, a painter whose studio at the Beaux-Arts has seen the work of several renowned artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, but also Lin Fengmian. Henry Emile Vollet benefited from the recognition of the artistic milieu of his time. For his works he received the honourable mention at the Salon des artistes français of 1888, as well as the bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900.
