Suzanne Belperron, creator of Bijoux du milieu du XXème, has become an emblematic figure in the world of jewellery. Born in 1900, she began her career at the age of 19 for the famous Maison Boivin as a designer. Then, in 1932, Bernard Hetrz, a major Parisian diamond and pearl merchant, offered her the freedom she so desperately needed to join him. The success was international.
Suzanne Belperron offered a prestigious clientele jewellery that was totally new in terms of materials, shapes and volumes, different from all the jewellery that had been on offer until then. “Even if the jewelry is sometimes a little exuberant, it is nevertheless elegant.
